Creative Director, Richard Critchlow's experience at the BBC and the nature of a number of our clients requirements has resulted in aerial filming being a specialism for Dependable Productions. For many years Richard ran BBC News's relationship with a number of aerial filming companies and became an expert, both creatively and in how to gain the most from an aerial filming budget. He was also instrumental in the wider use of live helicopter pictures in news. He is a regular adviser to many programmes on how to get the most from aerials.
Dependable Productions counts a number of large property companies among their clients. Property tends to be one of the subject areas which gains great benefit from the use of aerial filming.
Understanding CAA regulations, the difference between single and twin engine helicopters and the various camera systems which can be mounted on them is only the start of achieving good aerials. A creative approach is the key to make, what is likely to be a relatively expensive shot, look sensational. Aerials give a unique perspective of scale but so often the power of the aerial is squandered by a lack of imagination.
We are happy to assist broadcasters and corporate clients in all aspects of aerial filming. Please contact us for further information.
